MEXICAN FIESTA

Mark your calendars... and join us after all Masses the weekend of September 18th & 19th as we will celebrate and recognize our Twinning Parish relationship with Santiago Apostol of Camotlan. Everyone is invited to join us and sample a real taste of Mexico!!

FLU SHOT CLINIC

Saturday, October 2nd from 5:30-7:00 pm & Sunday, October 3rd from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at Holy Redeemer

All friends and family are welcome over the age of 18, children ages 9-17 must be with parent or guardian.  No children under the age of 9

Cost: $25.00 - cash or checks (made out to Community Care Givers), no credit cards accepted at this time.

Traditional Medicare accepted - please bring your card along with you. The cost for Medicare is $30.00 due to $5.00 billing charge, (the billing will be done for you).

Medicare Advantage programs - most accepted at this time, please bring your cards with you. The cost is $30.00 due to $5.00 billing charge (the billing will be done for you).

Pneumonia shots are available at a cost of $50.00 billable to Medicare and Medicare Advantage. All other insurance please bring cash or check

If you have been considering but have not taken the time to volunteer with us at Heartside Park there is still time. However, the end of summer is upon us and in about 4 weeks we too will end another outstanding season of this Outreach Ministry!

Don't miss this opportunity to share God's Love with our Heartside neighbors through a simple act of kindness! Make sure you and your family take part in this Outreach Ministry

You can help transport the items from church starting at 4:15 pm or meet us at the park at 4:45 pm. Make sure you are wearing a cap. The Health Department monitors us and requires that each person serving or preparing food is wearing a cap.

We could also use a few volunteers on Wednesdays for (1-1 1/2 hrs) to help assemble the meal. If you are interested contact Deacon Richard.

We hope to see you, your family, or your group at the park on Thursday!!

HAVE you been worshipping with us, but never officially took the step to become Catholic? HAVE you been away from the church...have now returned, but want to know more? HAVE you been a Catholic all of your life, but never celebrated all of the Initiation Sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist)? HAVE you joined us from a different background and would now like to find out more about the Catholic Church?

If any of the above questions apply to you, we would love to help you in your journey! OR if you know anyone that could answer yes to any of the above questions, perhaps you should extend an invitation to them!

FAITH FORMATION

Join us for one of the following sessions to register your child/children for formation classes for the 2010-2011 Year.  This includes all kids 4 year olds through 12th Grade.

Monday, September 13th @ 7:00 pm or
Tuesday, September 14th @ 10:00 am

Classes will begin on the following dates:

PARISH PICNIC

Mark your calendar and plan on joining us for our annual
Holy Redeemer Parish Picnic
Sunday, September 12th from 12:00-3:00 pm on the parish grounds. 
Admission is free!! 
There will be food, music, games, sing-a-long, balloon animals, and face painting. 

Bring the family for a day of fun and fellowship.

Please help out the food pantry by donating toiletries, paper products, and cleaning products.

PRAYER GATHERING

Please join us in thanking God for all of our blessings and to pray for your special intentions.  We meet on the second Monday of each month in the Emmaus Chapel.  Our next gathering is on Monday, September 13th at 8:00 p.m.  Please bring a rosary and any special scriptural or reflective readings.

LENDING LIBRARY

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING Good TO READ?

It's a great time to stop by our LENDING LIBRARY to check out some good reading that will help you deepen your spirituality or educate you more in your Catholic faith. We are open during office hours daily, on Wednesdays until 8:30 pm and between the Sunday Masses when there is Sunday School. We are located in the Faith Formation classroom wing.

NEW to our LENDING LIBRARY are CD's that give you a "listen" to different talks by such leading people as Dr. Scott Hahn, Fr. Larry Richards, Matthew Kelly and more. These CD's from Lighthouse Catholic Media are a way to hear the message on such topics as the Mass, Reconciliation, Catholic Spirituality, etc. 

50+ GROUP POTLUCK

Thursday, September 9th at 1:00 pm in Shepherds Hall. Come join us for great food and a great time. Bring your friends and please bring a dish to pass.

SUMMER OFFICE HOURS

Holy Redeemer Parish Summer Office hours will be Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 12:00 noon and 1:00pm - 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am - 12:00 noon.  Our normal business hours will resume Tuesday, September 7th.

RECYCLE!

Recycle your inkjet and laser printer cartridges, old cell phones, IPOD'S, old digital camera's, video games, etc. Drop boxes are located outside the Parish and Faith Formation Offices. Don't forget to feed our Paper Gator! Items accepted are: newspaper, office paper, shredded paper, catalogs, magazines, phone books, junk mail... NO CORRUGATED CARDBOARD! NO PLASTIC! And remember to save your aluminum can tabs for our "Tabs for Tots", a collection box is located in the outer Narthex of church, this benefits pediatric medical services in West Michigan. Let's all continue our efforts to GO GREEN!

CHASTITY FORCE Conference

September 11 from 2:00 PM - 8:30 PM
at St. Pius X Catholic Parish (3937 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville, MI)

This family-friendly event will promote sexual purity as a daily commitment for people of all ages and backgrounds. The conference includes: interactive keynote presentations, age-appropriate workshops, free child care, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, evening Mass, Dinner, Amanda Vernon in Concert, "With This Ring" music video debut, plus a book signing with psychologist and author Dean Vernon. Barrier-free facility. Admission: $10.00 per Individual / $40.00 - Family of five or more.
