Monthly - (the Third Thursday of each month) - As a means of broadening the parish concern for the poor and vulnerable, this ministry provides the opportunity for parishioners to reach out to individuals living in the Heartside Area of Grand Rapids. Once a month, volunteers will serve the meal and visit with the individuals attending the business meeting for the group called Hard Times Café. Volunteers choose the number of times they would like to participate. GIFT OF TIME: Two hours (4:30-6:30 pm.) in any month you choose.

HARD TIMES CAFÉ meets weekly, at Westminister Presbyterian Church. Holy Redeemer helps provide the food for the meeting on the third Thursday of each month. The Café provides someone to cook, but we send our volunteers to help serve the meal, and cleanup. This gives us an opportunity to sit and share a meal together. The meeting begins at 5:00 pm, and the meal is served at 5:30 pm. If you are interested in helping, please contact Barb Terpstra.
