SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION:  Preparation for the sacraments of initiation for children and youth at Holy Redeemer Parish is a comprehensive program designed to help guide young people as they continue their journey of Christian Initiation into the Church.  Preparation for sacraments is not only about cognitive learning but also about a time of spiritual preparation for the entire family. 
 

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION:  In the second grade children are prepared to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  In addition to classroom preparation, children and parents will gather for a time of teaching, prayer and support.
 

SACRAMENT OF EUCHARIST:  The sacrament of Holy Eucharist is celebrated for the first time in the second grade.  Classroom preparation is supplemented with family gatherings.  These gatherings will provide opportunities throughout the year for the children, their families, and catechists to journey together as they prepare for a lifetime of being nourished at the table of the Lord.
 

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION:  Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation will take place during the eighth grade year and this preparation will include a special retreat for the Confirmation candidates.  As our young people continue the initiation process we help them to understand that Confirmation is the completion of Baptism.  The Sacrament of Confirmation completes our welcome into the Church, seals the Holy Spirit received at Baptism, and strengthens us on our journey of faith.
